We all have heard of the dangers of sugar and salt: but the danger attributed to the second white crystal has more to do with getting too little of it, not too much. In this book, a leading cardiovascular research, Dr. James DiNicolantonio a scientist and doctor of pharmacy overturns conventional thinking about salt and explores the little-understood importance of it, the health dangers of having too little, and how salt can actually help you improve sports performance, crush sugar cravings, and stave off common chronic illnesses.
I got the audiobook version, and it was truly a game changer for me! My first cardiologist placed me on the “standard of care” limit of 2,000 mg of sodium after my heart attack. He and others literally made me fear salt! After watching a video on youtube with this author and then listening to this book AND experimenting, I tossed those fears and that limitation out! My exercise performance, sleep, and overall feeling all got better! Oh, and my blood pressure was not affected! If you fear salt/sodium or think it is bad just because “they” say it is, I highly encourage you to at least give this a listen. Now check this out, a shot and extreme test of lots-o-sodium and different levels of activity and my blood pressure.
